Last updated: 21/06/2025
1. Legal Status in Belgium
In the Kingdom of Belgium, airsoft replicas (softair) are classified as non-firearm sporting equipment for persons aged 18 and older. Minors (16+) may participate only with explicit parental consent and mandatory full-face protection.
2. Transport Mandates
Replicas must NEVER be carried openly in public areas, train stations, or vehicles. The transport rule in force is published in the Safety Rulebook at /rules:
Public Transport & Gun Case Regulations
The rules in force, read from the Safety Rulebook — /rules
- In Belgium, airsoft replicas must always be transported out of public sight in a locked gun bag or hard case, separated from BBs and batteries. Never expose replicas in public streets.
3. Biodegradable Ammunition Mandate
Belgian environmental directives require all outdoor airsoft fields to mandate certified 100% biodegradable BBs, to safeguard agricultural lands and forest reserves. The ammunition rule in force is published in the Safety Rulebook at /rules:
Certified 100% Biodegradable 6mm BBs Only
The rules in force, read from the Safety Rulebook — /rules
- Only 6mm BBs are permitted — nothing larger, on any replica and at any field. To protect Belgian nature reserves and agricultural soil they must also be official certified bio BBs. Ammunition is inspected at chrono, and any other size will be refused.
